Got to drive an auto V6 RS (w/ dual mode exhaust) at a Chevy dealer event and I have to say the car is damn impressive. I think you’ll see some decent aftermarket support for the turbo 4 but what I really want is a supercharger strapped to the v6.

This. Every engine for a car like a Camaro should have something special about it. Turbo-4 is OK by me. V8 is OK too, because duh. V6 come out of the Impala with almost no changes, and while the Impala is fine, it just doesn’t work on the level of the Camaro no matter how good it sounds or goes.

Get a blower on that bitch.

It’s not the same V6 in the Impala. It’s actually an all new LGX V6 instead of the old LFX V6 you’re referring to.

Still, it’s the same displacement, power/torque numbers are pretty close and so the connection seems to be there to anyone who can’t be bothered to look it up (me). I don’t want that in my performance car, I want something special. It’s hard to express exactly what I mean, but this is probably the best way:

The Grand National was just a trim level on the Regal. They could have just added performance parts and tuned it a bit, but that wouldn’t have given it its unique character. What that character came from was the arguably batshit step of throwing on a turbo and blacking it out. That’s what the V6 Camaro needs. To me it needs something to give it it’s own special character, it shouldn’t be there just to give someone a cheaper alternative. The turbomaro has that covered. The V6 needs one, and the reason I’m saying supercharger is because turbo would take away the turbomaro’s USP. Or, modify the V6 to rev to the moon, that way you have the turbo, the revs, and the classic V8 thunder as your choices rather than just good camaro better camaro best camaro.

Fun fact. I went to college with subaruwrxfan. I liked the Legacy he had at that point. Believe it was the b-spec with a manual.

Didn’t know him personally. Knew of him. Believe he was some sort of business major so we had a few general business classes together early on, lived in the same dorm as me freshman year and I think he bowled with a guy that lived a few doors down from me that year too
